How To Protect Your Social Security Number From Identity Theft

There comes a time in everyone’s life where they can use a little help. One of those times may be when you become pregnant or have just given birth. There is a nation-wide program known as WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) that helps provide nutritional foods to pregnant women, infants, and children up to age five.

You will also need to fill out your social security number on the passport paperwork and your date of birth. Another requirement is that you have your original birth certificate. As for the social security card itself, you only need the number. You are not required to give the passport agency your social security card replacement. And make sure you have your driver’s license on hand as well.

Think about it: how many kids do you know that use a credit card? How many youngsters under the age of 18 work on a regular payroll (where they get paid by check, not cash)? Not many, I’ll bet. How long do you think that person will be able to work or buy things using your child’s identity? Not long or not at all if you are vigilant from the beginning.

If the company uses a “Two-Cycle Billing” method, and you carry a balance from one month to the next, then the interest becomes retroactive clear back to the date you made the charge! Your grace social security card replacement period is eliminated!

Tip: don’t provide your child’s school with his social security number. The school can, if they wish, generate a nine digit random number(as an example) to represent your child. It should raise a red flag if they insist on it; in this case, consider another school for your youngster.

Tip: tell your child again and again not to give out any personal information in emails, especially to someone they met online. Do not allow your minor child to send any pictures of themselves to people you have not met.

You need water and food in your survival bag so put in some bottled water and rotate it every once in awhile. Put in some food that does not require cooking. You might also want to put in a pocket knife as well. Include a book of matches or two. If you can fit a change of clothing or several including socks and underwear you should include them. You can also get pocket-sized survival blankets that have a silver side and will either retain heat if it is cold or help to shield you from heat if it is hot. You may want to include family photos just in case you get separated. This will help in searching for the lost family member. Include a loud whistle to signal those around you.

I am sure there are a lot more items women love to carry in their purses. These are just a few of the items that generally come to my mind about women and their purses.
